YIT Lietuva changes the face of Šnipiškės: Naujasis Skansenas will feature two more new modern blocks of flats

In the central part of Vilnius, in the reviving Šnipiškės district, Naujasis Skansenas residential quarter continues to expand. Its developer, the sustainable urban development and construction company YIT Lietuva, is building two more new modern blocks of flats here, designed by the architects of the JP Architektūra studio.

By the end of the year 2022, two new 6-storey blocks of flats with a total of 144 flats will be built in the emerging Naujasis Skansenas quarter, between Žalgirio and Linkmenų streets. Prices for 1-4 room flats in those blocks of flats start from 2,300 euros per square metre. The houses will also be equipped with 16 commercial premises, the area of which will cover from 44 to 102 square metres and the price will be 2,600 euros per square metre.

A+ energy efficiency class houses will be equipped with advanced heating and ventilation solutions. The flats will have spacious balconies, and the residents of the upper floors will be able to spend their spare time on the cozy terraces overlooking Šeškinės Hill and the skyscrapers of Vilnius Financial Centre. In order to give the flats as much coziness and a sense of space as possible, they will be equipped with large exposure windows. The flats will be provided with efficient underfloor heating and individual recuperation systems. An underground parking lot for 120 cars will be installed under the houses. The residents of the house will have the opportunity to store bicycles in a special bicycle storage.

“Residents looking for housing for themselves or investment in Vilnius often turn their eyes to Naujasis Skansenas quarter, which brings life back to this area of Šnipiškės, located in the central part of the city. It is the proximity of the city life which is one of the most important criteria for many housing customers in the capital. Clients want to be able to have access to all services, developed infrastructure, culture and entertainment in the shortest possible time. We call it a 15-minute city concept, which guides us in developing our projects, ”says Kęstutis Vanagas, YIT Lietuva General Manager.

“Naujasis Skansenas“ is fully in line with this concept: the quarter is surrounded by well-developed service infrastructure, various institutions important for the residents, business centres, as well as the city‘s main recreational areas with bicycle and pedestrian paths. Not only the Neris embankment with recreation and active leisure zones, the National Art Gallery and Sakura Park are within easy reach, but also the Old Town of Vilnius on the other side of the river, which can offer rich cultural life, exclusive atmosphere, cozy cafes and restaurants, is very close. The financial centre of the capital with its banks, trade and catering institutions is located right next to the quarter, in Konstitucijos Avenue. Emlpoyees from nearby business centres often look for houses in the neighborhood as they want to be able to get to work within a few minutes‘ walk and to avoid traffic jams.

According to K. Vanagas, customers have also appreciated the efforts to create attractive recreation and leisure zones in the quarter itself. The home yards of the houses are equipped with green zones, children‘s playgrounds, sports trails and equipment. Therefore, residents and families with children who value quality leisure time are settling down in Naujasis Skansenas. The demand for the project is also illustrated by the fact that in the first stage of it only 14 flats out of 137 are left unsold.

”The flats in Naujasis  Skansenas are also popular among those who are looking for a housing investment. In this respect, smaller flats are particularly attractive. Investors appreciate the convenient location of the project, the neighborhood of business centres and services, the quality of installation, high energy efficiency and cost-effective solutions. Moreover, customers are paying more and more attention to the housing sustainability, and in this regard Naujasis Skansenas is being developed in accordance with YIT environmental impact reduction policy. That is why the CO2 emission of the project buildings is calculated and solutions that help to reduce it are used, ”says K. Vanagas.

Currently, YIT Lietuva is also building two modern business centres in Naujasis Skansenas. One of them will be completed this year. The Vilnius branch of the USA programming services company Devbridge became the first tenant of this BREEAM-compliant business centre. The company Naujasis Skansenas Ž has rented the area of more tan more than 5,000 square metres.

Currently, YIT Lietuva is also implementing Matau Vilnių project near Tauro Hill in Vilnius. In Kaunas, on the right bank of the Neris, on the other side of the Old Town, the company is developing Piliamestis quarter.
