One of the most popular residential housing projects has been completed in Kaunas

The sustainable urban development company YIT Lietuva has completed the 9th and the last construction stage of the residential quarter „Šilo Namai“ in Kaunas. An 8-storey apartment building has been built here, which, together with 11 previously built buildings, form a modern multi-apartment buildings‘ quarter located on the bank of river Nemunas. It has already become one of the most attractive places to settle in Kaunas, and three quarters of the apartments in the newest building were already sold before the construction was even completed. 3.3 million euros have been invested in the last stage of „Šilo namai“ project.

The last „Šilo namai“ apartment building has 48 1-3 room apartments with an area of 48-85 sq. m. Next to the building is a parking lot with 37 parking spaces, safe children's playground areas and planted recreation areas with pedestrian walkways. The apartments have balconies and some can find spacious terraces on the ground floors.

„Šilo namai“, from which you can enjoy the view of the river and Panemunė pine forest, was designed by architect Tomas Kriaučiūnas. Functional Scandinavian architecture was chosen and a lot of attention was paid to the convenient planning of the territory and installation of green spaces.

‘„Šilo namai“ is one of the largest residential housing projects we have ever implemented, which was immediately beloved by those who are looking for a dream home in Kaunas. Convenient location near the city center, but far enough from the noisy streets, quietly surrounded by nature. This is why it has become an extremely attractive choice for families and residents in general who appreciate peace and privacy. Some of the quarter‘s settlers, after starting families and having children, have already managed to buy a second or third home here”‘, says Kęstutis Vanagas, general manager of YIT Lietuva.

According to K. Vanagas, after the completion of the development of the quarter, there will be fewer and fewer opportunities left to purchase a second apartment, because most of the project‘s apartments have already been bought or reserved. According to the developers‘ representative, customer loyalty and continuing interest in „Šilo namai“ show that buyers appreciate the quality of the project and its exceptional location, therefore they recommend the newly built houses to their friends and relatives. In total, „Šilo namai“ already has a population of almost 600 residents. It is planned that about a hundred more settlers will join them.

After finishing this project, the environment of the quarter will be finally arranged, and its artistic final touch will be a sculpture created by the sculptor Robertas Antinis, the winner of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts.

„Šilo namai“, located on Biržiškų Street, covers an area of 25.5 thousand sq. m. In 2014, „Šilo namai“ was elected as the best residential project in the competition for the best real estate project “For Sustainable Development” organized by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA). YIT Lietuva started developing the quarter in 2011.

YIT Lietuva is also developing the urban quarter of Piliamiestis in Kaunas on the right bank of river Neris. In Vilnius, the company is implementing the residential housing projects such as „Naujasis Skansenas“, „Matau Vilnių“ and „Raitininkų sodas“, and recently it completed the „Naujoji Rivjera“ project on the bank of river Neris. For those who are looking for housing in the port city - the company offers to buy project's "9 Bijūnai" apartments in Klaipėda.
